Kiwis at ATP Challenger Tour in Japan

9/03/2010 11:18:06 a.m.

After the Davis Cup victory against Sri Lanka over the weekend Kiwis Dan King-Turner (above) and Rubin ‘Jose’ Statham will be playing on carpet turf at the US$35,000 ATP Challenger Shimadzu All Japan Indoor Tennis Championships in Kyoto, Japan.
King-Turner is recovered after his retirement due to body cramps and dehydration at the Davis Cup last Sunday. He is seventh seeded and faces Rameez Junaid from Australia in his first round match.

Statham (above) will play against fifth seeded Aussie Greg Jones, who is coincidentally his doubles partner.
In the doubles, King-Turner and his Australian partner Matthew Ebden will play against forth seeds Taipei duo Hsin-Han Lee and Tsung-Hua Yang.
Statham and his partner Jones (AUS) face top-seeded Junaid and Joseph Sirianni, both from Australia. The match will be played today (Tuesday).
