The second round of the Boys’ and Girls’ Singles Main Draw at the ITF/LTAT Junior Championships 2010 in Nonthaburi, Thailand was played yesterday (Tuesday).
Fifth seeded Kiwi Ben McLachlan (Southern, homepage photo) won his second round match against Robin Olin (SWE) 4-6 7-5 6-3. His opponent in the third round will be qualified Andrew Whittington from Australia.
Canterbury’s Barrett Franks had a tough match going down to James Duckworth (AUS) 6-1 7-6.
In the girls, Briar Preston (Southern, above), 15th seeded defeated Kobkanok Upapong from Thailand 7-5 6-3. In the third round she will play against fourth seeded Grace Sari Ysidora (INA).
Katherine Westbury (formerly Canterbury, above) also won her second round match to twelve seeded Ting-Fei Juan (TPE). She faces Luksika Kumkhum, seventh seeded from Thailand in the third round.All third round matches will be played today (Wednesday).
